Easy Fixes for a Dirty Towel

Ever reached for your favorite towel and found it… well, a little less than fresh? It happens to the best of us! Don't worry, we've all been there.

We're talking about those towels that are a little damp, maybe a bit dusty, but not yet smelling like a gym locker.

Let's figure out why this happens in the first place. That way, we can prevent it from happening again.

Don't Let It Linger!

The first step to fixing a dirty towel is to deal with it right away. Don't let it sit in the bathroom, don't let it linger in the hamper, and definitely don't leave it on the floor or countertop. Even if you live alone, it's important to address these little tasks right away. A quick fix now can prevent bigger problems later.

Another important tip?

Keep your towels dry! Always hang them up after you use them and put them away once they're clean (or as clean as they're going to get!). If you find yourself with a wet towel that needs drying, wring out as much water as you can and then hang it up to air dry overnight. That way, everyone has a fresh start in the morning, and there are no accidental wet surprises!

Stop the Smell at the Source

Even if your towel is clean, a dirty bathroom can make it feel kind of gross. It's easy to forget to clean the bathroom, but it makes a difference! A clean bathroom can make even a slightly damp towel feel fresh and new.

Cleaning the bathroom might seem difficult and time-consuming, but trust me, it's easy. Just follow my tips, pour some bleach into the toilet bowl, and let it sit for about 20 minutes. Then, scrub it clean.

You can do the same with your shower drain, just pour some bleach in and let it sit overnight. This will help kill any germs or dirt.

If you've done all of this and your towel is still not feeling fresh, don't worry. We have one more trick up our sleeve: laundry time!

Wash It!

Now, it's time to wash your towel! Use your regular laundry soap. Just make sure you don't use too much. A little bit of soap is all you need, especially if you're washing a small load.

If you've tried everything and your towel is still not feeling fresh, maybe it's time to get a new one.

Preventing Dirty Towel Problems in the First Place

The best way to deal with dirty towels is to stop them from happening in the first place! We've already talked about keeping towels dry and cleaning your bathroom, but there's one more thing to remember:

Choose the Right Towel

If you want a towel that dries quickly and resists mold and mildew, try a Turkish towel. They're a great way to say goodbye to smelly towels. They dry so much faster than regular towels, so there's less chance of them getting musty or smelly.

Plus, they're super versatile. You can use them in the bathroom, at the beach, at the gym, or even as a stylish accessory. They're lightweight and sand-resistant, making them perfect for adventures.

We recommend checking out our bundle! Get all four Turkish towels for just $100 (regularly $160) - that's a $60 savings! This set makes a great gift too.
